Falls Church City Public Schools received an Occupancy Permit on Thursday, October 25th, for the new educational wing at Mount Daniel Elementary.

"It's been a long road but we are almost all the way there," Superintendent Peter Noonan tweeted as soon as he got the official word. "The move into the building will start Saturday!"

The move from the current mobile classrooms into the new wing will occur in waves over the next two weeks.  Beginning on Saturday, October 27, crews will move in the Physical Education, Art, and Music Departments.  First Grade classrooms will follow next.

Food Services Director, Richard Kane says the first hot meals are expected to be served out of the new cafeteria within the next 30 days.

Once the move has concluded, the mobile classrooms will be removed from the property so the parking lot expansion can be completed this fall.
