
The IB Career-related Certificates (IUBCC) initially launched in 2006. It is the newest IB programme. It was relaunched as CP as it is now referenced from November 2014 to present day. IB reports that there are 370 schools offering the CP around the world. MHS completed final authorization of CP in the Fall 2023. The 2023-2024 school year will welcome its first cohort of CP students with the class of 2025. They will become the first graduating class with IB CP candidates in June 2025. The IB Career-related Programme occurs over the course of the 11th and 12th grade school years. IB CP students must be enrolled into the following course offerings/pathways.
Program requirements:
Students must enroll in and complete at least two IB Diploma Programme courses, ensuring they achieve a grade of 3 or higher in at least two of them through internal and external assessments.
If your Career-related study pathway includes IB Computer Science, IB Design, or IB Sports Exercise and Health Sciences, you must select 2 additional IB courses.
Take a minimum of (2) IB courses and exams

AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A (Computer Science)
IB Computer Science HL I and HL II (Computer Science)
Computer Graphics I and II (Computer Graphics)
Design I and Design II (Design)
IB Design HL I and II (Design)
EMT I/II and Biology II: Human Anatomy & Physiology (EMT)
Athletic Training I and II or IB Sports Exercise and Health Sciences (Sports Medicine)
Enroll into IB Personal and Professional Skills (IB PPS in both 11th and 12th grade - year long course)
Successfully complete the CP core
