Year Two (2023-24)
By June 2024 the intial cohort to Juniors will complete the first year of the IB Career-related Programme.
Activities
The first cohort of Career-Related Program students are currently enrolled in classes and planning field trips to businesses and locales focusing on collaboration and communication by 2024.

Activities
Meridian High School is using Stable Block to offer students service learning opportunities related to sustainability.
A Sustainability Fair was held November 13, 2023 at Meridian High School
All 8th grade MYP Community Projects at Mary Ellen Henderson MIddle School community projects are connected to sustainability.

In October 2023 FCCPS will present the first IB Continuum Conference: Communicating and Collaborating Across the Continuum
Activities
IB teachers, coordinators, and administrators from 15 districts and two private schools, representing six states and Washington, D.C. attended the conference.
This was the first conference to invite IB continuum school divisions and IB partnership schools to come together to build community, collaborate, and strengthen all IB programmes (PYP, MYP, DP, CP) across the K-12 continuum.
FCCPS staff planned the conference, presented many of the sessions, and participated in sessions.

By June 2023 FCCPS will implement grading & reporting changes at all grade levels.
Activities
Secondary team is engaged in monthly Professional Learning about Grading and Reporting.
At the end of the first grading period, Mount Daniel and Oak Street Elementary Schools debuted new report cards infused with the IB Framework.
New elementary report card was used throughout school year at Mt. Daniel and Oak Street Elementary Schools. Staff provided feedback and the committee met to review feedback and to make adjustments/tweak. Minor adjustments will be shared prior to the 23-24 School Year.
In October 2023 K-5 report cards were emailed for the first time. Parents were required to sign and return a form.

By June 2023 implement systems recognizing students for notable achievements in IB Learner Profile traits at all schools.
Activities
In September 2022, Meridian High School began recognizing students and staff for demonstrating Learner Profile attributes on a monthly basis. Mary Ellen Henderson had this practice in place.
Mount Daniel and Oak Street Elementary Schools continue to recognize students for demonstrating Learner Profile attributes .

By June 2023 complete a successful IB program development support visit of Jessie Thackrey Preschool
Activities
Throughout Fall 2022, the Elementary PYP Coordinator worked with JTP staff members to enroll them in IB trainings.
The Director of Early Childhood Education and the Elementary PYP Coordinator communicated with the International Baccalaureate to schedule IB program development support visit prior to the end of the 2022-23 school year.
As of May 2023, Jessie Thackrey's PreK classes are authorized to offer the Primary Years Program and have joined the FCCPS IB Continuum.
By June 2023, staff members leading the FCCPS Academy for Sustainability Thinking will implement recognition in line with IB program requirements for Meridian High School students. FCCPS will establish partnerships with neighboring jurisdictions to plan and develop an academic school year Governor’s School program (grades 9-12) within FCCPS.
Activities
Beginning in Fall 2022, sustainability recognition requirements and opportunities are communicated to students through Stable group and Sustainability in Action meetings.
In December 2022, FCCPS leadership met with senior leaders from Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) to discuss forming a partnership to create an Academy for Sustainable Thinking. FCPS expressed an interest in forging a partnership with FCCPS. Work continues towards the launch of an Academy for Sustainable Thinking.
In December 2022, Innerview, a service learning platform, was launched for non-DP high school students to document service learning connected to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
68 MHS students received National Community Service Awards from the UN for their volunteer work supporting the Sustainable Development Goals..
26 MHS students earned "Sustainability In Action" recognition for connecting coursework, capstone projects and service through lens of sustainability.
Rooftop Solar Panel installed in Fall 2023 included student learning and participation in Ribbon Cutting.

IB Career-related Programme Parent Information sessions held December 2022 and January 2023.
Student Information sessions included in the 2023 Curriculum Fair.
During Spring 2023, teachers will be planning IB Personal and Professional Skills curriculum curriculum and attending training.
Meridian High School hosted a CP Authorization visit in June 2023.
The initial cohort of approximately 15 students will be enrolled for the 2023-24 School Year.
