Falls Church City Public Schools is recognizing the end of the second year of its mentoring program set up for teachers who are in their first year with FCCPS. 

The FCCPS Mentoring Program was initiated in the 2018/19 academic year, to help facilitate the onboarding of new teachers to FCCPS by providing support in areas such as instructional methods, classroom management, assessment, and parent communication. 

The program is geared towards supporting first-year and veteran teachers that are new to the division, which involves collaborating with school administrators to match mentors with mentees.

This year, there were 25 pairs of mentors/mentees and mentees/support buddies working together this year, sharing knowledge and experiences. In this program, new teachers benefit from having a source for answers to questions about programs specific to FCCPS including Schoology and IB, and also having a source for feedback, procedures, and a ready ear.
