Each year the Virginia Municipal League puts out the "If I Were Mayor" letter contest to 7th graders across Virginia.
The contest asks 7th graders to discuss the changes they would make to their community if they were mayor, dovetailing with their Civics curriculum. Given the pandemic this year, the students were asked to write, from their perspective, what worked and what they would change for virtual learning.
