George Mason's Niharika Singhvi was awarded 2019 Virginia School Boards Association Exhibitors Scholarship. The scholarship, funded by exhibiting companies at the VSBA’s annual convention, was made available to spring 2020 graduating seniors who had served as student school board representatives. Ameresco, and Mountain Valley Transportation sponsored this year’s scholarship program, which is in its seventh year.
Niharika has served as student representative to the Falls Church City School Board since June 2019.
Niharika was chosen from 16 applicants representing 13 school divisions. In addition to serving her impressive extracurriculars such as Varsity sports, student council, tutoring, Key club, and many more, Niharika’s application also highlighted her character. The application painted a clear picture of Niharika as an individual with a serious work ethic, a tenacity to overcome difficult and challenging situations, and an enthusiasm for learning.
The scholarship was awarded earlier today at the VSBA Annual Convention in Williamsburg, VA, which brings together school board members, superintendents, division administrators, and education officials from across the commonwealth.
