Students in fourth grade are writing poetry and sharing it with their classmates. The focus is on personification and alliteration. 

Working in pairs, they are reviewing poems from their writing journals, discussing their favorites, identifying the descriptive words, and then reading a poem to the class. 

Discussion follows, and the class decides if the poem has personification or alliteration, and they cite examples.
