English Learner Services

Philosophy:

Falls Church City Public Schools is committed to providing academic services that meet the needs of all learners. The purpose of the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Program is to provide Multilingual Learners (MLs) access to core content and instruction while supporting their language acquisition process. Through content-embedded support and English Language Development structures, MLs are able to be successful in their academic endeavors. The ESOL program in FCCPS is differentiated to meet the needs of all students, Pre-K through 12th grade.

Beliefs:

  • All students will be supported in the achievement of English language proficiency

  • Educating Multilingual Learners is the responsibility of all school personnel

  • Knowledge, respect, and appreciation of all languages and cultures

  • Parents of Multilingual Learners are important and valued members of our community
